Anchor & Arrow

My name is Lorna and I am the owner and founder of Anchor & Arrow Baby. I live on the Northern Beaches of Sydney with my husband and toddler. I love the beach, fashion, a good glass of wine with friends and most of all, I love being a Mum! 

I worked in media for over 15 years but like my parents, I always had an entrepreneurial spirit and I loved creating things for people.

5 years ago when my friends started announcing they were pregnant, I was faced with the challenge of what to buy them that was both practical but would fit with their style. I struggled to find what I was looking for, but after watching all the mums pushing their prams along Manly Beach, I quickly realised that a baby swaddle was an essential item in every parents house hold, and something they rarely leave the house without.

I began designing my own patterns and spent countless months sourcing the most beautiful organic bamboo cotton. After lots of quality testing and TLC, I finally turned my designs into baby swaddles which I gifted to all my friends. They absolutely loved them and soon they were wanting to buy them for their friends too! That's when I realised how passionate I was about creating beautiful products for parents. I loved hearing things like "I haven't had any sleep last night and I've been vomited on twice this morning already, but this swaddle made my day!"

I added more designs to my range and before I knew it, our garage and second bedroom had been transformed into storage rooms. I signed up for Manly Markets every Saturday alongside my full time job - the juggle was real but I knew how passionate I was about my products, what we stood for and making sure that people loved them! 

HOW WE HAVE GROWN

Whilst on maternity leave I started expanding the range and designing additional items that I needed as a new parent, but struggled to find. What started as 6 swaddle designs, has now evolved into over 10 different product ranges and 15 unique and hand-designed prints... and we have more exciting things in the pipeline!

Our business now operates from our very own warehouse, and has grown to 3 beautiful team members who are pivotal in the running and growth of Anchor & Arrow.

As we continue to grow, our customers will always remain our number one priority! We hope you love our products as much as we have loved designing them for you.
